Father’s Day is a special occasion to show love and appreciation to the most important man in our lives, DAD! While there are tons of ways to celebrate our fathers, taking a trip to Tallahassee, Florida, can make it even more memorable. Florida’s capital city has something for every kind of dad—whether he loves cars, music, or just excellent quality food!
The first Father’s Day was held in the United States on June 19, 1910, in Spokane, Washington. Years later in 1972, President Nixon officially signed the proclamation to make Father’s Day a federal holiday. Now each year on the third Sunday of June, families across the country acknowledge and appreciate the fathers and father figures in our lives!

2023 Tomato Feastival
Is your dad a foodie, or just a lover of fresh produce? If so, kick off this Father’s Day at the annual Tomato Feastival! Hosted by the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance, the event honors everything great about the Tally community, and of course tomatoes. The event features live music, local breweries, local farms, small businesses, and even a tomato judging competition! Any crafty dads out there? This Father’s Day, give your dad the gift of creativity with the chance to make his own glass hanging fish! Tally’s Lake Jackson Community Center is hosting another DIY craft night you won’t want to miss. The class costs $50 to attend, with the community center providing all the supplies and safety materials. No glass cutting experience necessary, so beginners are welcome!

Every third Saturday of the month, EventsWithCars hosts a meetup for car lovers to bring and show off their beloved vehicles at the Tallahassee Winn-Dixie. The event is completely FREE! What could be a more “dad” event than a motorcycle-themed Father’s Day party? Tallahassee’s Harley Davidson is hosting a celebration for all the adventurous riding dads out there. Join them on Saturday for food and bikes, plus a FREE bikini bike wash! They’yre even offering FREE haircuts for dads! Can’t make it on Saturday? Head over for Sunday Funday, where you can praise your pops with beer, popcorn, shopping, and a raffle! Plus, you can join in on their Hog Ride – a group motorcycle ride through the city. For all our culture-curious dads out there, check out this year’s Bloomsday Festival! The Irish Repertory Theater is hosting the event that will transport you and your father back to 1904 Dublin, Ireland!
